Healthy teeth help support and maintain your jaw alignment. When you lose one or more teeth, your remaining teeth may shift, affecting your ability to chew and speak. A dental bridge replaces missing teeth with artificial teeth, eliminating the gap where those teeth had been. The bridge is then bonded onto surrounding teeth for support.
Cosmetic bonding is an affordable, quick and painless way to repair many cosmetic flaws or injuries, including gaps, stains and chips. Bonding sculpts individual teeth with no or very little structure removed. This technique bonds a composite material that looks, acts and feels like the real thing, to an existing tooth. This procedure usually doesn’t require the use of an anesthetic and is relatively quick to apply. It gives an immediate result and is less expensive than veneers.

Sometimes when too much of a tooth’s structure has been damaged, a crown may be needed. Dental Crowns may also be necessary to attach bridges, cover dental implants, correct badly shaped teeth, to protect a weak tooth or restore fractured teeth. This permanent covering fits right over your original tooth and with natural-looking e-max crowns or durable gold crowns, all custom made by a local dental laboratory.
Missing teeth may add to a number of problems, including sagging facial muscles, inability to eat certain foods and speak. If you’ve lost all your natural teeth due to periodontal disease or injury, dentures may be your best solution and getting them doesn’t have to be a traumatic experience. First, any remaining teeth are removed and a model is made of the patient’s jaw. Then a temporary denture is fitted while the mouth tissue heals. Once the mouth tissue is completely healed, the patient is fitted with their custom dentures. Learn more on our dentures page here.
If you are in pain, or feel you have any kind of dental emergency, call us at: (206) 322-8862. For anything life-threatening, please call 911.
Dental emergencies are quite frightening and often painful. Prompt treatment is almost always required to alleviate pain and to ensure the teeth have the best possible chance of survival.
Sometimes teeth become fractured by trauma, grinding or biting on hard objects. In other cases, fillings, crowns and other restorative devices can be damaged or fall out of the mouth completely. If there is severe pain, it is essential to make an appointment with the dentist as quickly as possible. The pain caused by dental emergencies almost always gets worse without treatment, and dental issues can seriously jeopardize physical health.

These days, pulling a tooth is still sometimes necessary. Teeth may also be extracted to make room in the mouth prior to straightening teeth (orthodontic treatment), or to remove teeth that are so badly decayed or broken that they cannot be restored. But don’t worry, we don’t use a string tied to a door! Extractions can usually be performed with local anesthesia and we’ll make you as comfortable as can be.
See more information on extractions here.

If you lose a tooth, a dental implant may be needed to replace the tooth root and crown. Dental implants are simply “anchors” that permanently support replacement teeth and have many advantages, including their natural appearance, improved comfort and unequaled convenience. The procedure requires a titanium root be fitted into your jaw to replace the lost tooth’s root. Once the implant is anchored into the bone, the bone around the implant requires six weeks to six months of healing. Once the bone has healed, a support post and replacement tooth is anchored onto the implant. Learn more on our Dental Implants Seattle page.
When more than a third of a tooth’s biting surface is damaged, a porcelain inlay or onlay may be required, especially on molars. These naturally contoured restorations are bonded into place using a strong resin. Inlays and onlays protect teeth similarly as crowns, but conserve more natural tooth structure and your tooth’s natural color.
Do you wish you had straight teeth, but hate the thought of wearing braces? Here’s good news! With new Invisalign braces, there are no metal brackets pulling on your teeth. Since they’re nearly invisible, you can get a stunning smile without people even noticing you have braces. Treatment consists of a series of clear aligners that move your teeth through controlled force. Custom-fitted aligners are changed about every two weeks and since they’re removable, keeping your teeth clean is easy. Ask about Invisalign braces today and see what a difference they make.
At both our Seattle and Tacoma locations, we help with the treatment of irregularities in the teeth (especially of alignment and occlusion) and jaws, including the use of braces or Invisalign. Learn more on our Orthodontics Seattle page.

When a tooth’s nerve or pulp area becomes diseased or injured, a root canal may help you save the tooth. If the diseased pulp is not removed, your tooth becomes infected and you could lose it. During a root canal, the dentist removes the pulp, cleans the root canal and seals the canal to protect it. Once you are healed, your dentist places a crown over the tooth to help make it stronger. Generally, a root canal is a relatively simple procedure with little or no discomfort.

If you are an extremely nervous patient, Nitrous Oxide or other sedative dentistry options may be the answer for you. With Nitrous Oxide, also known as Laughing Gas, or other sedative options patients are put in a relaxed, yet fully responsive state, where they will be unaware of the treatment and completely comfortable. Treatment can be completed in less time and with less stress, which allows quicker recovery. And, with Nitrous Oxide, patients typically leave the dental office alone and can immediately resume normal activities. Ask your doctor which sedative is right for you.

Whitening your teeth is one of the easiest things you can do to improve your smile and boost your self-confidence. A single whitening procedure can counteract years of exposure to coffee, tea and smoking. Professional whitening is much more effective than off-the-shelf remedies for turning dull, yellow teeth into a bright, healthy smile. So why put it off any longer, when it’s so easy to look so much better?
If you experience jaw joint clicking or locking, ear pain, headaches or sensitive teeth you may have Temporomandibular Joint Disease (TMJ). Some people with persistent TMJ suffer debilitating pain and don’t know why. Learn more about our TMJ Treatment here.
If you experience symptoms of TMJ, we encourage you to visit us for a professional examination and treatment plan.
What are Veneers? Dental veneers are slim, shell-like covers made out of porcelain or composite resin. Veneers have a custom-designed fit that goes over the surface of your teeth. They usually cover the front of your mouth.
According to the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry (AACD), a veneer is a “thin piece of porcelain used to re-create the natural look of teeth, while also providing strength and resilience comparable to natural tooth enamel.”
Within a few visits, veneers will be custom made and matched to the natural contour of your teeth. Veneers are very strong, solid, and last-longing.
They are bonded to your teeth’s enamel and make your smile look incredible.
According to the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry, statistics show that annually, 599,000 patients receive dental treatment of veneers.
